Here you will find information on our group sponsorships as well as donations made.

Ever since 1992, when we first established our group, we each year find a worthy cause to support and make donations to eligible aid & development projects, with focus, however, on child care and education.

Whenever we establish a new office, we make sure to use local suppliers to ensure that we support the local infra-structure and the local business community.

Each year we make a donation to an eligible aid & development project, primarily with focus on child care and education.

SOSKinshasa_mini SOS Kinshasa - Child Education Programme - 2008-2009
Since last year, we participate in funding of this very important child education programme in Kinhasa, RD Congo. We are assisting the programme in finding other sponsors and benefactors outside RD Congo.

mosguard_mini Initiative Plus DR Congo - 2008
When a Hewa Bora aircraft crashed near Goma in the Eastern part of the DR Congo, Initiative Plus asked for assistance and our group responded by sending 1,500 mosquitonets and blankets. We airlifted everthing to Goma.


netprotect_mini University of Kinshasa Seminar - 2008
In August 2008 we sponsored a survery carried out by the University of Kinshasa (Medical Faculty) analysing the need for treated mosquitonets in the DR Congo as well as a subsequent seminar, which we held at the Hotel Venus in Kinshasa. The seminar, headed by professors of the University, was attended by more than 150 visitors, who were all - of course - presented with a treated mosquito net. Netprotect (R) LLINs are fully approved by the WHO. Groupe Østergaard is official and exclusive distributor of Netprotect (R) LLINs in the DR Congo since the beginning of 2008.

To support the Ministry of Health in the DR Congo, we donated 1,500 mosquitonets of the brand 'Netprotect (R)' - for distribution free of charge. Nets were personally handed over by Kim Østergaard.


gode_mini Governor of Katanga Province, DR Congo - 2007
To support the fight against malaria in the Katanga Province our group donated 1,500 mosquitonets for distribution free of charge. All nets were airlifted to Lubumbashi and personally handed over by our area director, Mr. Godé Rubambura.


Donation_BICE_mini BICE DR Congo - 2005
In 2005 our group decided to donate a factory new Honda CT110 to a local aid & development project, BICE. The motorccyle was airlifted and 'hand-delivered' to the project on location in Kinshasa by group representatives.


CarpentersCongo_mini Local Carpentershop DR Congo - 2003
When we established our first office in the DR, Congo back in 2003, we decided to have a local Kinshasa carpenter shop manufacture all our office furniture in order to support the local community and infra-structure.


worldvision_mini World Vision International Benin - 2002
During a conference for the official launch and introduction of Honda motorcycles in Cotonou, Benin in 2002, our group arranged a lottery among all NGOs, which attended the conference, and the lucky winner was World Vision International.


footballteam_mozambique_mini Football Team Mozambique - 2002 - 2004
As part of our support to children and sports, we were main sponsors in 2003 as well as 2004 of a Mozambican youngsters football team (U18 Maputo). We also provided the necessary shirts and apparel, in general, of course.

In 2001 our group donated a factory new Honda XL125 to Save The Children U.K. in Mozambique.


donationpic_mini Charity Event Tbilisi, Georgia - 2001
We co-sponsored a charity event held at the Marriott Hotel in Tbilisi, Georgia for the general well-fair of children in orphanages. The charity event raised funds to improve conditions of the orphanage located in the centre of Tbilisi.


Emily_mini Young Kenyan Long-Distance Runners - 2000-2005
For several years our group was the proud sponsor of a number of young Kenyan long-distance runners, giving them the opportunity to train at a high level and participate in races throughout Europe

At the BBM MIVA 10 year anniversary in 1999, we donated a factory new Honda CT110 - BBM MIVA is a close friend of our group and we have supported eachother a lot throughout the years.


honda_uganda_mini Children's Orphanage Project Uganda - 1998 - 2000
For three consecutive years, 1998 to 2000 (when our group was still the owner of Honda distribution for Uganda, Tanzania and Mali), we supported a children's orphanage project by donating a factory new Honda CT110 motorcycle to the project manager, allowing her to run around Kampala and find orphan children to make life better for them. We also took care of gasoline, service and maintenance for the project until 2002, when the project unfortunately stopped owing to lack of funding.


FootballUganda_mini Children's Football Team Uganda - 1997-2002
Each year a local school in Kampala, Uganda arranges a children's football tournament that attracts a lot of attention and we were very happy to have co-sponsored this event for 6 years in a row.

We also supported a similar arrangement as above, however, for a young basketball team - we sponsored all training suits, apparel and shoes.Sport and welfair goes hand-in-hand!
